Boot Out Breast Cancer Day
Belmont FC’s Boot Out Breast Cancer Day will be held on July the 27th.
We will proudly be pink for the day with the teams wearing their pre-purchased pink socks for the event as well as some additional items that have been purchased.
Don’t forget to purchase an entry guessing how many lollies are in the jar in our guessing competition in the weeks leading up to the event.
Our teams whether home or away will look outstanding donning the pink socks raising money for the local charity. Home teams will help the club be pinker which away teams carry the support and raise the awareness of the support Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) provide.
HBCF support local families going through treatment providing help via house cleaning, car trips to appointments, and lawn care among other things as well as providing comfort packs which are given out to every patient during treatment which include cushions, bags & drain bags too.
Grounds Closed
Grounds have been closed for training.
Grounds Open
The grounds have been opened for training however please keep off of the wet areas.
Boot Out Breast Cancer
Our pink sock fundraiser has had a change in direction but can still go ahead. Please read the notice from Judy Johnson below to find out more details.
To All Teams, Coaches and Managers,
I have been in contact with the McGrath Foundation this week and due to insufficient stock, they are now unable to supply us with the required number of socks for our Pull On Your Socks fundraiser. I am extremely disappointed by this as I was not made aware of the supply situation by the Foundation upon registration of our event. I only discovered it last week when I was placing our sock order and the situation was confirmed this afternoon. Sadly, The McGrath Foundation have offered no alternative for our event but I have an alternative, if you are still willing to participate.
Last year when I was going through treatment for breast cancer, the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) were wonderfully supportive to, not only me, but my family as well. They are a local Foundation who support locals living with breast cancer and those going through treatment. They provide house cleaning, transportation, lawn maintenance, emotional support, care packs for relief during and after surgery and exercise and mindfulness classes. They can only offer this support through donations and fundraising money – they are not supported financially through any other means. The HBCF also run a pink socks campaign – BOOT OUT BREAST CANCER!
This is the link to the HBCF website –
https://hbcf.org.au/
The details that remain the same – their socks are still $12, caps are still $20, coolers still $10, Argyle socks still $12
The differences are – NO STRIPE SOCKS OR SPOTTY DESIGN SOCKS AVAILABLE
– The Argyle design is slightly different and there is a camouflage design to choose from as well
I will contact those teams that are affected by these differences – there are not very many. I will give refunds for the difference in price between sock design #2 and the HBCF pair – $3/pair – unless they are happy to give difference as a donation.
Due to this disappointing and unforseen situation with the McGrath Foundation, we will now host our BOOT OUT BREAST CANCER for the Hunter Breast cancer Foundation, on our alternative date JULY 27TH
If you have any concerns or DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE, please do not hesitate to contact me either via email judy137@bigpond.com or via text message 0414011023. All updates will be on the Belmont FC website or the Facebook page.
On behalf of the POYS Committee, I apologise for this unforseen and disappointing circumstance, BUT we will have a wonderful day supporting a LOCAL foundation and looking fantastic in our pink socks!!
