Working Bee a Success

post

WOW! What an amazing effort! Thank you so much to the parents and kids who volunteered their time to help mow and whipper snip the grounds on Saturday with another washed out day. It was great to see so many turn up to help in any way they could.

Shoosh for Kids

post

Join us as we Shoosh for Kids this May guided by the idea “If you can’t say anything nice at kids’ football, don’t say anything”.

About Shoosh for Kids

Shoosh for Kids is a collaborative effort between the Office of Sport and sector partners, including Northern NSW Football, to promote positive behaviour at kids sport.

We all want community football to be a positive place while addressing issues which arise from poor behaviour including:

  • Abuse of officials
  • Reduced volunteer numbers
  • Reduced participation rates (due to poor experiences/ non-enjoyment/ too competitive)

How you can help

This May play it positive at kids’ football by:

Encouraging fair play

  • Cheer and acknowledge good play by both teams.
  • Thank the official, coach and other team after the game.

Respecting officials, coaches and opponents

  • Accept decisions by officials – they are human and can make mistakes.
  • Deal with issues in a controlled and professional manner after the game.

Keeping your emotions in check

  • Be enthusiastic, but don’t scream instructions from the sideline.
  • Don’t get into shouting matches with anyone.
  • Never use bad language or harass others.
  • Uphold your club’s code of conduct.

Help kids enjoy sport

  • Emphasise trying hard and having fun, not only winning.
  • Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake.

Social Kick

post

With last weeks social kick being a success and everyone wanting to do it again, let’s make it even bigger this week by having more attend.

Be at the ground this Friday (25th October) at 6:00pm so we can quickly decide how big the field should be and what goals we should get out and we’ll set up quickly, split into teams and have a fun game.

As long as you turn(ed) 15 or older this year you are welcome to join us. This event is open to both male and females and you do not need to be a registered player to participate.

The Facebook event page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/453524468619873/

There is an event page on Facebook on our Facebook page that you can let us know if you’ll be attending if you like. It should be a enjoyable evening and with a suitable attendance, it can be a regular get together.

Reminder: Social Kick

post

Prior to the end of the season we put out a message to see if anyone would be interested in getting together for a social kick around throughout the off season. As there seems to be enough interest, we’ll be starting this Friday evening. This is to be a a non-competitive, friendly and fun environment.

This is currently only open to those players from U15 and above.

If you are interested, please arrive at Marks Oval at 6:00pm so we can assess what size field best suits the numbers and we can all set up the fields/goals accordingly.

Come on down and join in the fun.

Presentation Day

post

Wow! What an exciting day we’ve had. The Presentation Day is over for another yet and plenty of players have gone home with smiles on their faces after a big year.

Belmont FC takes pride in being a Community Club and is often more about participation than winning but that didn’t stop the club from massive achievements this year. With only 9 competition teams, 6 of those teams made it to the Finals, 5 teams made it to the Grand Final, we had 2 teams finish as Premiers and 1 Grand Final winning team. All in all, a very successful season and then there’s all the smiles on the faces of the Small Sided Football teams.

Belmont FC would like you to help this club continue to over achieve by taking some time to help out. We need people to take on roles to keep this club of great tradition going. The Annual General Meeting will be held this coming Thursday, the 19th September and will be held at Jewells Tavern and will commence at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there. The club can’t run without your help.

Do you have photos of today’s Presentation Day that you’d like to share? Send them to us via Facebook Messenger.
