Trial Games Sunday 7th April

Please find the times for all of our planned trial games for this coming Sunday the 7th April 2019.

The times shown are kickoff times so please ensure your team arrives early enough to get prepared for the game.

Shorts and socks will be available on the day for those who still need to purchase but please be aware that the committee will be busy so being served can be unavoidably delayed

Trials Games Still Going Ahead

Following ground inspections this morning and this afternoon, at this stage tomorrows trials games are Marks Oval are going ahead.

The ground was very wet and soft under foot this morning but the inspection this afternoon showed that while some areas are still wet, there has been great improvement.

Shorts and socks will be available on the day for those who still need to purchase but please be aware that the committee will be busy so being served can be unavoidably delayed

MiniRoos Coaches, specifically in the 5-8 years bracket

Hi Clubs

Just sending a quick email with details of the upcoming ALDI MiniRoos Certificate which I am scheduled to deliver at Swansea on Tuesday night (April 2nd). This Certificate will provide helpful tips and ideas for your MiniRoos coaches to use in enriching the football experience for your players!

Venue: Chapman Oval, Swansea

Time: 6:00pm- 7:30pm (Usually lasts approx. 1 hour)

Cost: FREE

For: MiniRoos Coaches, specifically in the 5-8 years bracket

Training with the Newcastle Jets

On Wednesday the 27th March, Belmont FC were fortunate enough to have some visitors from the Newcastle Jets run a training session for many of our Miniroos players from U6 through to U11 and then a trip to Belmont McDonalds with food provided.

We were delighted to be able to host Dimi Petratos, Kosta Petratos, Daniel McBreen and Craig Deans who were sensational with the entire event. From setting up and explaining the drills to playing along with the kids, motivating them and giving some pointers along the way.

Just quietly, Dimi told us that they (the Jets) had a really good training session earlier in the day and are a good chance of beating Wellington this Saturday. Go the Jets.

Reminder Jets Training Session 27th March 4pm.

Just a quick reminder for those teams taking part on Wednesday afternoon.

Please be on time for a 4pm start. Teams will be placed into groups of 16 and rotated through drills every 8 minutes. Coaches will need to follow and assist their team at each station. If you are late you will miss your drill.

Coaches need to bring along the cones and balls for drill setup.

Due to limited number some players have unfortunately missed out so if you are booked in and are unable to make it then please let us know. We would like as many kids as possible to be involved.

If your team usually trains at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon and you are not taking part in the Jets session the Rooball field and surrounding areas will be the only areas available.

U12 players needed for subs

MiniRoo Referee’s

Do you want to be a MiniRoo Referee this upcoming season and earn some pocket money? We need players from within the club to step up and control the MiniRoo’s games. Jets Training Session and Dinner

The following Miniroos teams have been successful in nominating to attend the training session on 27th March at 4 to 5pm followed by dinner at Belmont Mcdonalds 5 to 6pm: U6/04, U6/05, U7/01, U7/03, U7/04, U7/06, U8/02, U8/03, U9/01, U9/02, 10/01, 11/01, 11/02.

Unfortunately we are over-allocated and not all teams that applied have been able to take part. This is also due to field availability for such a large number of teams training in one session. As advised, teams were allocated on “first in first served basis.” Hopefully we can organise another session later in the year.
